Autumn term just flew by!

I embarked on my journey for my MBA programme at the Essex Business School on the 3rd of October 2011. My first term has just finished with a bang!! I had the time of my life at EBS in the first term. From the impressive professors, who guide you so well in your projects and reports, to the enthusiastic and friendly batchmates, the experience has been so enriching. The energy here is simply so high and contagious. It is academic and fun all at once!!!

As part of our MBA programme we had the opportunity to visit the HSBC Head Quarters in London. We met some of the top officials from HSBC and spent the entire day with them. It was a wonderful learning experience to get an insight into the banking industry and the corporate governance framework regulating the industry. This will definitely go a long way in helping us once we obtain our MBA degrees and are ready to take charge of our corporate roles.

The fact that the University of Essex is a research oriented institute means it has the best of faculty available. The hair-splitting mentality helps you learn the art of detail here. While on the other hand you have this bunch of livewires who look forward to every weekend to party like crazy.

EBS is equal to diversity. I have made friends pretty much from all over the world here:  wonderful people with even more wonderful backgrounds; each one getting you the best from his or her country. I have had the best Turkish coffee & delight, the best Iranian Tah chin (saffron rice), the best Mexican Enchiladas, the best Russian Vodka/Champagne/Wine and the best Jordanian Hummus….Need I say more?

Apart from the MBA suite, which is my 2nd home in the UK (the 1st being my apartment where I live), my most favourite hang out place is the “Sub Zero”. Since, this pub is on campus I have an excuse to visit it more often than the other pubs. This is one place for which I want to remain a student for my entire lifeJ .

What an exhilarating experience it has been!! I don’t believe that the first term is over already. Looking forward to a fun filled Spring Term now. How I wish I could pause a few of my happiest moments at EBS. Nevertheless, I have some wonderful memories to cherish all my life of my MBA programme at EBSJ
